- How can I edit my registration?
Click here to update your registration. This is also accessible via the Edit Registration link on the right side of your screen, above the navigation buttons. You must be logged in to access your data.
- How can I register my team to compete?
If not already listed in the Team/Club dropdown menu on the registration form, you may register your bike club or team by clicking the "Register your group" link below the dropdown menu. If you have already completed your individual registration but would now like to create a team, log in to the site and click the Edit Registration link in the top right corner of the screen. Scroll down to the second half of the form to find the "Register your group" link. Be sure to inform your teammates that you have registered your team, and that they should visit the Edit Registration link and select the team name from the dropdown in order to assign themselves to it.
The website will assign your miles to both Employer,
Group and Individual (yourself) but they only count once
in the total.
- How can I register as an individual?
I am not employed and would like to participate.
In
the drop-down list of employers, select either:
- Self employed
- Retired
- Unemployed
- Student
- Why aren't my miles being counted in my employer/team
total?
Employer and group totals are updated each night
around 3:00am. This year you will not see your miles instantly
reflected in your employer/team totals. We made this change
to improve loading speeds during busy times of the day.
- Are my cycling miles automatically copied from
my Commuter Club Trip Diary? How about the other way
around?
Yes, as long as you are registered on both this
site and Commuter Club. There is a checkbox on each logging
form which you can use to indicate whether or not to copy
your miles to the other site.
- What if my email address is shared with someone else?
Our system uses emails as unique identifiers to track
individuals. You must have your own email address to
register. You can sign up for a free email address
at many services such as Yahoo!
Mail, Google
Gmail (recommended) or MSN
Hotmail.
- How can I register my kids in the Schools Challenge?
An adult (parent, guardian, school staff member, etc) must register as a normal user on the site, then attach one or more student registrations to their profile. This may be done during the registration process, or after the fact by logging in and clicking Edit Registration then Add/Edit Students. When you go to input your miles, a dropdown menu with both the adult's and students' names willl appear so that you can indicate who rode the mileage.
- What if my information has changed from last year?
If you are a member of a Sacramento area Commuter Club, your current profile will be pulled from that system and used as the basis your May is Bike Month registration. You can update your profile at any time via either this Website or the Commuter Club site.
If you are not a member of Commuter Club, you will be able to register for both sites via this Website, and will have the opportunity to fill in all your correct updated information.
- How do I get my tshirt this year?
May is Bike Month t-shirts will be available to cyclists
again this year for free. Check events
page for
exact locations.
You can also receive a t-shirt through your employer if your employer is a member of a Transportation Management Association.
- What if I don't want my name and mileage published?
Sorry, but all participants in the Million Mile Challenge (with the exception of students under the age of 18 participating in our Schools Challenge) agree to having their name, pledge, miles ridden, and employer name published on this site or other May is Bike Month promotional materials.
- Can I enter miles for days prior to the
date I registered?
Yes, you can change the date in the "Date Ridden:"
box and the miles will be recorded for the date entered.
The
reality is that transportation planners are more interested
in number of TRIPS taken by bicycle than miles, so we really
appreciate it if you could log each day and each type of
trip separately. (commute / errand / recreational / work
meeting) I think the pie chart on the front page helps
visualize that, and we're especially interested in the
errands and work meetings by bicycle.
