| The fifth year of the Milion Mile May campaign to encourage bicycling in the Sacramento region was a success, with 1.3 million miles of bicycling logged! The challenges at worksites and the competitions among employers were exciting. The 55 bicycling events held throughout the region were fun. And the 53 Smart Cycling clinics offered at worksites helped more than 1,000 people develop a better understanding of the rules of the road and the techniques of bicycling with traffic. The final prize winners have been randomly selected by the computer program, (see bottom of page of Prize Drawings), and the regional award winners have been selected by the panel of judges (see Bike Friendly Awards). The 14-member Steering Committee and the staff at SACOG thank you all for another successful, exciting and fun campaign!. We'll continue to post bicycling news on this site, as the focus now shifts to kicking off an enhanced Commuter Club program that addresses all our travel options. |
